Rider Check-in helps you and your staff to know precisely when Riders have arrived in order to speed up the handover process and ensure an efficient delivery to the Customer.
To start using this feature, you first install a Rider Check-in Tag next to your order collection point. When each Rider arrives to collect their order, the Rider then simply taps the Tag with their mobile phone to check in.

FAQ’s
What are the benefits of using Rider Check-in at my site(s)?
Rider Check-in offers you a more reliable and trusted way of knowing when our Riders have arrived to collect orders. This will help us measure Rider wait times more accurately and make prep times more accurate.
How does the Rider Check-in Tag work?
When the Rider taps their phone against the Check-in Tag, they show that they have arrived using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology (similar to contactless payments).
Where should I install the Rider Check-in Tag?
The Rider Check-in Tag should be installed next to your order collection point. This will ensure Riders are waiting in the area you’d like them to wait and that the Rider remains visible to your team ready for the handover. Examples of collection points are in the Installation Guide.
How should I install my Rider Check-in Tags?
Do securely fasten the tag to a wall, window or pickup counter
Do place the tag as close to the pickup location as possible
Do place the tag in a prominent location that Riders can easily access
Do not place the tag in a congested location such as a narrow corridor
Do not install on a metal surface as this prevents the tags from working
Does Rider Check-in change the moment when a Rider “arrives”?
Yes, the Rider Check-in signal will measure when Riders have arrived, and be used as the starting point to calculate Rider wait times.
What happens if the Rider Check-in Tag is stolen, broken or removed?
A: Once your site is activated you need at least one working tag at all times so that Riders can successfully collect orders. The tags are interchangeable within a site so you should always have a backup. If one of your tags stops working please report the issue to your Account Manager to receive a replacement.
In the unlikely event that all of your tags are suddenly unavailable (stolen, broken or removed) then call this dedicated number immediately (+44 1224 051 825) and report the issue. Our Partner support team will deactivate the system so that riders are able to arrive and collect orders as normal.
Can we nominate other sites to use Rider Check-in?
A: We will be looking to roll out Rider Check-in further over the coming months, so feel free to nominate other sites via your Account Manager.
What if I have virtual brands operating at my location?
A: Where multiple brands operate at a single site, these can all be linked to the same group of tags. Riders will then use the same tags to check-in for all brands at that site.
Will all Riders be able to use Rider Check-in?
8 out of 10 Rider devices are already compatible with Rider Check-in and this number is increasing over time. The remaining Riders will continue to use the current geofence technology.
