Your opening hours need to be accurate every single day, including the days your business runs differently to usual.
Use Special Opening Hours in Partner Hub to update your availability for bank holidays, local events, or other one-off changes. If your opening hours aren't accurate, customers may see your business as open when you can't take orders, or miss the times when you are available.
If you need to close for a full day you'll need to set days off. You can find out how to do that here
Setting up special opening hours
Only admin users can set or change the special opening hours on Hub. See the instructions below:
1. Click the “Opening Hours” tab on the main menu.
2. To make a one-off change, select “Edit availability” at the top right of the page.
3. In the next session, click “Select sites” to choose which sites you want the changes to apply. You can select multiple sites at once or bulk upload them.
4. Once you pick the sites, select “Update” and click “Continue”.
5. Fill out the event name and choose the date to set up the special opening hours.
6. Select the time you want to open on that day. If you want to close, select “Closed all day.” Then, choose a reason for your special hours and click “Save.”
7. Before continuing, the system will ask you to confirm your selected one-off opening hours. If you need to amend the sites, you can do so by clicking “Select sites”.
8. Click “Save” to apply the changes to all selected sites.
9. After a few minutes, you will receive a message confirming your special opening hours have been successfully saved and the changes have been applied to the selected sites.
IMPORTANT: If an error message appears, you might need to set your special hours again. This might happen if you’re experiencing connection issues or instability.
Once you have set up your special opening hours, a banner will appear at the top of the page with a reminder.
You can view all your upcoming events by clicking “View all events” on the banner. If you need to cancel or update the opening hours for one of the events, select the event and click the “Delete” button at the bottom of the session.
Will the special opening hours override my regular opening hours?
Yes, if you set up special opening hours for an event, the app will automatically show those hours on the selected day. If you want to operate using your regular hours, you will need to delete the event.
What’s the difference between the special opening hours and the Days Off tool?
These two tools were created to help you manage your opening hours on the platform. Here is when to use them:
The Days Off tool allows you to schedule a planned closure for specific days of the year or for longer periods of time. When you have a Day Off scheduled, your business won’t auto-open on the app.
The Special Opening Hours tool allows you to create events and set specific business hours for each event. You can apply the changes to multiple sites, and create as many events as you want. The special hours or planned closures will override your regular opening hours for the requested days.
How far in advance can I create the events?
You can create an event as early as you wish. If you already know the days you will need to adjust your business hours, you can set up all the events at once and in advance.
Why is it important to keep your opening hours updated?
Accurate opening hours help customers see your business when you're available to take orders.
If your opening hours aren't up to date, customers may try to order when you're closed or miss the times when you're open. Keeping your availability accurate can help reduce missed and cancelled orders, supporting your sales and rating on the app.
