When can I request an additional rider for a large order?

If an order is too large for one rider to carry, you can request an additional rider after the first rider has collected the order.

Deliveroo uses order size predictions to determine how many riders are needed before an order is collected. In many cases, the correct number of riders will be assigned automatically.

You may notice that the Request a Rider button shows an error message if you try to request a rider before the first rider has collected the order.

This is expected and helps us make rider assignments first.

The feature has not been removed. You can still request an additional rider when it's needed after the first rider has collected the order.

We're initially testing this change with a small group of Merchants.
