How to use Bulk Management in Menu Manager

Bulk Management allows you to make large changes to your menu or catalogue using a CSV file.

You can use it to:

  • Add new items

  • Update existing items

  • Delete items

  • Update stock availability

  • Move items between categories

  • Add additional languages

All actions follow the same upload process.

How Bulk Management works

Every bulk action follows these steps:

  1. Download the template

  2. Edit the CSV file

  3. Upload the file

  4. Review errors or warnings

  5. Confirm the changes

You cannot undo an upload once confirmed, so review carefully before completing.

How to access Bulk Management

  1. Log in to Menu Manager

  2. Click Bulk Management

  3. Select the action you want to complete


Add items in bulk

Use this to add multiple new items at once.

Step 1: Download the template

  1. Select Add Items

  2. Click Download Template

  3. Choose the attributes you want to include

  4. Download the CSV file

Step 2: Complete the file

  • Add one row per new item

  • Use the correct category_id for existing categories

  • To create a new category:

    • Leave category_id blank

    • Enter a new category_name

  • Do not edit Deliveroo-generated IDs

Step 3: Upload and confirm

  1. Upload the completed file

  2. Fix any errors

  3. Review the changes

  4. Confirm upload


Update items in bulk

Use this to change details such as prices, descriptions, tax rates, dietary information or restrictions.

Step 1: Download the template

  1. Select Update Items

  2. Choose the attributes you want to update

  3. Download the CSV file

Step 2: Edit the file

  • Do not modify item_id

  • Update only the fields you want to change

  • Delete rows for items you are not updating

Step 3: Upload and confirm

Follow the standard upload process.

Delete items in bulk

Use this to permanently remove items from your menu or catalogue.

Step 1: Download the template

  1. Select Delete Items

  2. Download the CSV file

Step 2: Edit the file

  • Keep only the rows for items you want to delete

  • Remove all other rows

  • Do not edit item IDs

Step 3: Upload and confirm

Deleted items cannot be recovered once confirmed.


Update stock availability in bulk

Use this to update stock across multiple sites.

You can mark items as:

  • available

  • unavailable

  • hidden

Important:
You can update a maximum of 10 sites at a time.

Steps

  1. Select Update Stock Availability

  2. Choose up to 10 sites

  3. Download the template

  4. Update only the stock status columns

  5. Upload and confirm


Update item-category mapping in bulk

Use this to move items between categories.

Steps

  1. Select Item-Category Mapping

  2. Download the template

  3. Update category fields:

    • Use correct category_id for existing categories

    • Leave category_id blank to create a new category

  4. Upload and confirm

Do not modify existing category IDs.


Add additional languages to items or categories

Use this to upload translations.

Supported language codes:

  • en

  • fr

  • it

  • ar

  • zh

Steps

  1. Select the relevant language update option

  2. Download the template

  3. Duplicate rows for each language

  4. Add the correct locale_code

  5. Upload and confirm


Before you finish

  • Check your file is CSV format

  • Ensure file size is under 8MB

  • Review errors carefully before confirming
