Schedule days off whenever you know you won't be able to prepare and fulfil orders, for example:
Holidays
Refurbishments
Staff training days
If you don't schedule a day off, customers may still see your business as open and place orders you can't fulfil. This can lead to cancelled orders and affect your customer rating.
You can schedule days off up to 365 days in advance using your Tablet or Partner Hub, helping keep your availability accurate for customers.
If you are only planning to close for part of the day you should set special opening hours instead. You can find out how to do that here.

When to use days off vs opening hours
Use opening hours when:
You’re trading, but at different times
You’re adjusting weekly or daily availability
Use days off when:
You’re closed for a full day or longer
You can’t prepare or hand over orders at all
Whichever option you use, make sure your availability matches when you can take orders. If you close unexpectedly during your scheduled opening hours, customers may still try to order from you. This can lead to missed orders and may reduce the number of orders you receive after you reopen.
