How to set up and use your Sumni tablet

This article explains how to set up your Sumni tablet, troubleshoot common issues, and manage printer settings so you can start receiving Deliveroo orders. This applies to all partners using a Sumni device.

How to set up your Sumni tablet for the first time

Follow these steps to begin taking orders:

  1. Press the power button to turn on the device.

  2. Select the arrow to continue.

  3. Set your language and time zone.

  4. Connect to your WiFi network.

  5. Select Start Configuration and wait until installation reaches 100%.

  6. Check your email for your Deliveroo login details.

  7. Open the Deliveroo app.

  8. Sign in using your username and password.

  9. Set your preferred printing settings.

  10. Select Open for Orders to start receiving orders.

What to do if your tablet is not connecting to WiFi

A stable internet connection ensures you never miss orders.

Check your connection status

  1. Open the tablet menu.

  2. Select Remote Assistance.

  3. Review the message shown:

  • “The connection is ready!” → Your tablet is connected and ready.

  • “Network is unavailable” → Your tablet is not connected.

If your WiFi is not working

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select WiFi.

  3. Confirm you are connected to the correct network.

  4. Check that the password is correct.

Tip: If you entered the wrong password:

  • Tap the network.

  • Select Forget.

  • Reconnect using the correct password.

What to do if you are not receiving order notifications

To make sure you receive every order:

1. Keep the Deliveroo app open

Stay on the Deliveroo app screen. If you switch to another app, notifications may not come through.

2. Check the volume

  • Set the tablet volume to at least 50%.

3. Turn off Screen Saver mode

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Sleep.

  3. Choose Never.

4. Enable Override Do Not Disturb

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Notifications.

  3. Open the Deliveroo app settings.

  4. Enable Override Do Not Disturb.

What to do if the Deliveroo app is not working

Your SUNMI tablet automatically updates when new versions of the Deliveroo app are released.

If the app is not loading or responding:

Restart the Deliveroo app

  1. Select the ☰ icon in the bottom right corner.

  2. View all open applications.

  3. Swipe up on the Deliveroo app to close it.

  4. Reopen the Deliveroo app immediately from the home screen.

Important: Reopen the app straight away to avoid missing order notifications.

Check auto-updates are enabled

If auto-updates have been turned off:

  1. Open the App Store.

  2. Open the Menu.

  3. Turn Auto update back on.

How the Sumni printer works

The printer is built into your Sumni device. As long as Bluetooth is enabled, orders will automatically print using the integrated printer.

How to insert a printer roll

  1. Open the orange flap at the top of the device.

  2. Insert a printer roll size Ø 50.

  3. Close the flap securely.


How to change printer settings

You can adjust font size and print density.

  1. Select .

  2. Open InnerPrinter Settings.

  3. Adjust the font size or density.

  4. Select Print test receipt to test changes.

Tip: Always test changes before opening or after closing to avoid printing errors.


How to reset printer settings

  1. Select .

  2. Open InnerPrinter Settings.

  3. Select Clear all the Settings.

Can I connect the SUNMI tablet to an external printer?

We strongly recommend using the integrated printer. It is faster, more reliable, and easier to set up.

However, you can connect a compatible Bluetooth printer instead.

Important:

  • Deliveroo supports only a limited number of Bluetooth printer models.

  • The printer must be correctly named and configured to pair successfully.

  • Compatibility may vary depending on model and configuration.

To connect an external Bluetooth printer

  1. Go to Device Settings.

  2. Select Bluetooth.

  3. Under paired devices, locate InnerPrinter (the integrated printer).

  4. Select the ⚙️ gear icon.

  5. Choose Forget to remove it as the primary printer.

  6. Select your Bluetooth printer from the list of nearby devices.

  7. Enter the password to pair.

Tip:Before opening for business, test the connection by printing a test receipt from the Deliveroo app.
