The UK Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 introduces new legal requirements for businesses selling vaping and nicotine products.

To continue selling these products on Deliveroo, you'll need to review your menu and ensure the correct product tags are applied before the law changes on 29 October 2026.

You must ensure that all relevant products in your catalogue are tagged correctly.

- Nicotine vapes
- Zero-nicotine vapes
- Nicotine e-liquids
- Zero-nicotine e-liquids

This tag triggers Deliveroo's 18+ age verification at checkout.

Important: If you sell zero-nicotine vapes or e-liquids, you must review your menu and make sure these products also have the vape_product tag. This is a new legal requirement from 29 October 2026.

Tag nicotine pouches and other nicotine products

Use the new nicotine_product tag for consumer nicotine products that are not vaping products, including:

- Nicotine pouches
- Other consumer nicotine products that require age verification

This tag also triggers Deliveroo's 18+ age verification.

Products that don't need the nicotine tag

You do not need to apply these tags to licensed medicinal nicotine products regulated by the MHRA, such as:

Nicotine sprays sold as licensed stop-smoking aids

- Nicotine replacement patches
- Nicotine gum
- Lozenges
- Nicotine sprays sold as licensed stop-smoking aids

These products are exempt from the new requirements.

Stop discounts and promotions on vaping and nicotine products

From 29 October 2026, you must not offer discounts, multi-buy deals, or free giveaways on vaping or nicotine products. This also applies to any promotions created before 29 October 2026 that are still live on or after that date.

If you manage your menu in Menu / Catalogue Manager

You can add these tags in the Limitations section of each item or by using the bulk upload tool.

Complete all menu tagging and promotion updates by 22 October 2026, ahead of the law taking effect on 29 October 2026.
